Photo Friday: European Airspace Opens

Last Thursday, just a day after European airspace re-opened, we were taking a leisurely walk on the beach at Bettystown (30 minutes north of Dublin airport) when we spotted jet-trails in the sky above us. It was a welcome sign that things were returning to normal and that we’d be getting off the island soon.

I cannot count the number of times a London local told me how quiet it was without the airplanes! We spent a lot of our 9 days in London outdoors, and really took full advantage of the “clear skies”

Funny how things are taken for granted until they disappear and always appreciate when they return.

That must have been a a relief- we were affected too as my husband had to go on rugby tour by coach instead of plane but let’s hope that it doesn’t flare up again in the height of the summer holiday season

I wondered if folks really noticed the noise difference with the decrease in air traffic. I definitely notice it when traffic from Detroit’s airport gets re-routed over our neighborhood!

When you aren’t traveling, extras days seem like a special gift but I can imagine that those extra travel days were a bit stressful at times. I hope you enjoyed it and I can’t wait to read more about your trip!
