Wine-Making At Dunham Cellars

Wine-tasting with children is tricky, they’re just not as interested in a fruity nose or a hint of blackberries on the palate as you or I might be. When my boys were younger, WanderDad and I typically tag-teamed while tasting with one tasting while the other played with the kids. Now that our boys are a little older, they self-entertain with books and games and by making videos of themselves with our Flip. For example, on our recent trip to Walla Walla, while we were sampling some truly awesome wine at Dunham Cellars, we had no idea they were making this little gem:

What a great video! Not only did you show us a cool, behind-the-scenes part of the winery that most grown-ups would not stumble upon on their own, but you managed to not be upstaged by a dog. You also demonstrated that you have excellent manners, which should make your mom very proud. Well done!

Nice to see that interest and enthuasism for “the drink of the Gods” in the next generation. I liked the confident and informal interview style. Would be nice to get a look at the cameraman next time : ) Well done boys!

Move over Coen Brothers, here come the Murphys! Fantastic video boys. I was glad to see the dog wasn’t accidently mixed in with the grape crushing…or perhaps thats where the “hair of the the dog” saying comes from??….
Looking forward to the next Murphy brothers movie.

Congratulations Cillian and Brendan I really enjoyed watching your video. Who knew they crushed the grapes out the back? I see that was Red Wine that was being made. It reminded me of our time with you in Mexico and Brendan’s joke about red and white wine 🙂
